Privacy.CHEF is not a company or formal organisation but an umbrella term used to describe a parent-led group of home educating parents in the Cambridgeshire area.
We take privacy seriously and our privacy policy tells you what we do with your personal information. 1. HOW DO WE GET INFORMATION? Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons: ► You have made an enquiry to us. ► You have contacted us to provide us with information. ► You and/or your child wish to attend, or have attended a parent-organised event or activity. 2. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT? You directly provide CHEF with the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you: ► Join the CHEF Google group ► Voluntarily provide information to other CHEF parents through social media, telephone us, or email ► Use, or view our website via your browser’s cookies. 3. WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE INFORMATION WE GATHER? We require this information to: ► involve you in our parent-led community ► to answer queries and enable you to participate and find out what's going on locally 4. WHO CAN ACCESS YOUR INFORMATION? Your information is accessible only to our Google group moderators (CHEF parents volunteering in this role) and other parent members should you choose to join the Google group email. The Local Authority does not have access to this data. 5. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION? We aim to remove contacts promptly upon request or when it is apparent that the person we are contacting is no longer an active member of the CHEF community. 6. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION We will not share your information with any third parties for the purposes of direct marketing or any other purpose. 7. THIRD PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS Your information will not be shared with third party providers other than by you and unless in relation to a third party educational activity you have signed up to. 8. YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS Under data protection law, you have rights we need to make you aware of. The rights available to you depend on our reason for processing your information. Your right of access You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. Your right to rectification You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. This right always applies. Your right to erasure You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information. Your right to object to processing You have the right to object to us processing (using) your personal information at any time. This effectively means that you can stop or prevent us from using your information. Your right to data portability This only applies to information you have given us. You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us to another organisation, or give it to you.
